Things I found on the internet...

...that I think are pretty. Ready? Begin.

Simple mugs with awesome color. Teal, blue, green. Love it.

Grey striped towels. I love this color. (And yet somehow I don't love endless grey winter days. That doesn't add up...)
{West Elm via d*s}

Fluffy grey zig-zag rugs. I could decorate my whole bathroom in grey and white, apparently.

P.S. Did I tell you that my nails are silver? I love grey! (Just not a grey sky all the time.)

Color of 2011

Pantone announced its color of the year... Honeysuckle! Otherwise known as pink. I'm not sure how I feel about it... I mean it's pretty. But it's no teal, gray, or yellow... Ha.

Book covers

The other day I was wandering a bookstore, pointing out to Dave all the book covers I liked. After about three, I stopped and said, "Wait, I think I'm just pointing to all the ones with heavy typography." He just laughed and nodded. Case in point, this book, today's internet find which I think is cool. The big type gets an extra +100 from me because it's in MY FAVORITE COLORS.

Colors!

Ooo, look how pretty the new Paper Source colors are! Of course I love them because (haven't you heard?) "peacock" is just a fancy way of saying TEAL. And who doesn't love sunshine yellow? YAY SUMMER COLORS!

TEAL

Friends, I own teal pants. Here's the evidence. I mean, really, how could I say no to these?? (This photo is from our memorial day cook out. Sadly not on the beach due to rain, but delicious nonetheless.)

I like these...

I love these pillows Elise made and posted on her blog. It's like a combo of my favorite things: yellow, gray, WORDS! Throw a little teal in there and BAM, it would be Ashley's favorites. She modified this tutorial to put them together.

Jane Mount + An Ode to Books

There's something about the way books line up so beautifully on shelves advertising their subjects so blatantly from their spines. I love looking at bookshelves (as you may know). I love the color and graphic mix of them all lined up. I just love books. (Good thing I'm in the industry, right?)

I've run across Jane Mount's work several times recently in my perusal of the internet and it fits well with my love of all things books + shelves. She does paintings of people's bookshelves, portraying what's on the shelf, thereby describing who they are or where their interests lie. I looked through many of her pieces and had such a hard time choosing one to put up here. I think I settled on this one because I love the whale bookend.

See them all, and Ms. Mount's other work, here.

Side note 1: I love how the New York Times refers to people in their articles as Ms. Suchandsuch or Mr. Whosywhatsit. It's so professional and respectful. Hence I've decided to do that too... as often as I remember.

Side note 2: I found these wooden lunks of bookends at the thrift store many months ago, planning to fix them up and make them look... more awesome than their lunky-ness is right now. I noticed them a few days ago and now am taking ideas for what to paint them. So far I've thought: teal (duh), yellow, or something else bright... purple? orange?

Wood + Rehab

I had several windows open yesterday of pictures/things that I like but our internet experienced a few difficulties... So I am going to share them today. (And yes, the internet says thank you for your regards, she's doing much better today.) (I'm a nerd.)

I stumbled upon the blog BROOKLYNrehab and found a whole treasure trove of cool things. (Kind of makes me wish my job was to search for things like this... Oh well.)

I really like these little paper cuts hanging from clothespins. I think that I would like to decorate my... kitchen? laundry room? hallway? with this sort of thing (someday).

I also found this funky frame from paperdoll woodshop on etsy. I also like the 'M' magazine holder.

Happy Thursday! It's my favorite day of the week! (Which obviously doesn't include weekend days like Friday, Saturday, or Sunday!)

Turquoise & Portugal

J. Crew has a little album from their most recent catalog photo shoot in Portugal. This is my favorite picture. I love, love, love this building. It's turquoise! (Which is code for my favorite color, teal. Haha.)
